Did you know that angels surround you?
They are your beautiful invisible guardians and friends. If, for a moment,
you become very still, you can feel their comforting, protecting presence, almost as a warm blanket of love. You might even
feel the gentle touch of their wings!
They have been with you since birth. They are with you when you play, when you do your chores, when you are sick or frightened, and when you
are happy and joyful. They go with you to school and to church and wherever you
go. They keep you safe each time you cross the street or ride in a car. They are especially close when you pray. They
love you and want to help you with every part of your life.
You can ask them to teach you to be kind, to respect your parents,
and to share with your friends. You can whisper a little prayer to them each
morning and evening and whenever you feel sad or afraid or need help at school. They
love when you acknowledge them and thank them for being so close.
Angels are part of God’s kingdom, and you can almost see them when you look up into the sky and see floating
white clouds…or walk by a garden and smell the sweet fragrance of roses. Angels,
like flowers, remind us of heaven: the fragrance, the gentleness, the beauty.
When you are loving, happy and peaceful, you are planting seeds that will grow into flowers that
will bless and uplift others. Your guardian angels want to help you to grow a beautiful garden of virtues. Each time you are kind or share a toy or care about another, you plant another flower in the garden of
life.
As you look at the angels pictured in the Garden of Angels, think on the virtues they represent. Each of the little angels bears a gift for you in the form of a virtue. Imagine how you can plant these virtues in your life.
As you pray to the angels, think about feeling happy,
peaceful, loving, strong. The more you think about goodness, love and light,
the more goodness, love and light will bless your life and those you know.
It is fun to spread blessings…and watch them grow!
